THE APPLICATION PERIOD FOR THE AG2019 FARMER-RANCHER SCHOLARSHIP HAS CLOSED.
The Agricultural Leadership Foundation of Hawai‘i (ALFH) is pleased to announce the availability of a limited number of farmer/rancher scholarships to those interested in attending the Hawai‘i Agriculture Conference (AG2019). The conference will take place October 15-16, 2019.
The theme for this year’s conference is AGdaptation: Hawaii’s Growing Opportunity. In an ever- changing world, Hawai‘i agriculture must adapt to be viable and sustainable, providing rewarding careers, enriching lifestyles, and stewarding our ʻāina for future generations. AGdaptation means agriculture in Hawai‘i doesn’t just survive, it thrives. In response to the feedback received from evaluations of AG2017, the Planning Committee created a scholarship program to support Conference attendance from farmers across the State.
THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE - APPLY TODAY!
APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 5:00 PM ON JULY 22, 2019!
There are two scholarship types:
1) O‘ahu participants: For those currently residing on the Island of O‘ahu, the scholarship includes conference registration that provides access to plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, the exhibit hall, and meal functions (value = $300).
2) Neighbor Island residents: For those who currently live on an island other than O‘ahu, the scholarship includes conference registration and a $300 travel stipend reimbursable upon submission of a post-conference evaluation (total value = $600). Conference registration provides access to plenary sessions, concurrent sessions, the exhibit hall, and meal functions. Checks for the travel stipend will be awarded at the end of the conference when the post-conference evaluation is submitted. Early departure will result in a loss of the $300 stipend portion of the scholarship.
Special consideration will be given to farmers and ranchers who demonstrate a strong interest in agriculture and a commitment to advancing the agriculture sector, have submitted a proposal for the conference program, are first-time conference attendees, and are first time recipients that demonstrate financial need.
